American ITC judge Ruled Microsoft Has Infringed Patents of InterDigital Communication

According to the report of Reuters, American technology tycoon Microsoft has failed in litigation involved in an expensive patent. The verdict of American ITC was that Microsoft had applied technology of InterDigital Communication into their mobile phone without its permission.


The judge Theodore Essex stated Microsoft has infringed two patents on wireless cellular technology. In addition, mobile phone of Microsoft will be prohibited importing into America and Microsoft promised not to act against the public interest.


Before the prohibitions were republished, the judgment of this judge needed the approval of all committee of ITC.

Previously InterDigital Communication charged Nokia infringed its patents in 2007. Actually mobile phone department of Nokia rightly was acquired by Microsoft last year. This patent of InterDigital Communication was connected with minimizing the distraction of battery-to-cellphone.


In terms of Microsoft, the verdict of Monday was just one section of the whole process. The vice president of InterDigital Communication Lawrence acclaimed to continue negotiations with Microsoft about the patent permission.


The censor of ITC will end by the end of August. Before the outcome was revealed formerly, all rumors are just rumors. Though it is a big event in the field of mobile phone, it means a little bit for common people. Maybe what they care more about is the recondition of iPhone.
