Huawei May Start Producing Mobile Phones in India Soon

Chinese telegraphic tycoon, Huawei recently won a critical production document that was issued by Indian government, which paved the way for Huawei to open and exploit Indian market ulteriorly.


19 months ago, Huawei applied production license from Indian government for the first time. With the Huawei accessing to the Indian market, it has symbolized the campaign “Made In India” which was proposed by Indian premier Narendra Modi achieved another great success.


The Indian market of mobile phones developed rapidly and possesses 0.975 billion mobile users nowadays. Based on the latest report by HSBC Bank, 0.15 billion Indians now use imported networking smartphones. It is forecast the data will increase at a compound growth rate of 26%.


Allen Wang, the president of Huawei consumer business claimed in Wednesday: “India is an important overseas market for Huawei. We aim to be top three in Indian mobile phone market in 3 years.”


The spokesman of Huawei in India said that Huawei hasn't received any formal reply from Indian government. He refused to answer any other evaluation.


If lucky, Huawei will be the first Chinese manufacturer of mobile phone hardware in India, which will make up for the negative influence that resulted from slowing business growth domestically.
