iPad Smart Cover Would Be More Intelligent In The Future

According to a patent application document from U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, Apple was studying finding a method to make the Smart Cover display related information and charge iPad more intelligently, so iPad entity button may reduce in the future.

It is reported that, The name of Apple’s patent application this time was 'Device Input Modes With Corresponding User Interfaces’. In details, Apple describes this patent as : Users could gain the important information through partly opened the iPad Smart Cover, at the meanwhile, iPad may monitor the specific gestures of users to trigger corresponding operation on this stage.  ‘We permit users to increase the convenience of using this device by accessing parts of the equipment resources or functions, service ways on the premise of no need to unlock the device.’written in the patent document.

For example, when users open the first part of Smart Cover, they could check the pushing messages such as emails’ title and senders, and if users go on opening the Smart Cover, then they could read more details of the emails on the premise of no need to unlock iPad.

At the same time, Apple also set more system quick commands for this patent. For example, users could start up the’peek mode’, which means just opening a small part of the Smart Cover to quickly adjust device’s screen brightness and open some common apps. More excitedly, under this circumstance, users could also adjust device’s volume by sliding longitudinally or unlock device’s horizontal lock through circling on the screen.
 
It is said that Apple was studying more functions of this future Smart Cover. For example, when users open Smart Cover entirely to watch videos, then the system may tacitly approve to the full screen mode, and if users close parts of the Smart Cover at the meanwhile, then video’s content size would adjust automatically according to the screen size that exposed outside.

One thing should be certain that if all functions above wanted to be realized, then Apple must build in more magnetic induction devices in iPad and the matched Smart Cover. But this company also showed that, the iSight camera and ambient light inductor inside iPad can support these functions to come true as well.
