Chinese Smartphone Shipments Tendency Report

Chinese smartphone shipments will reach 450 million in 2014, accounting for the global market share of 38.6%. It is predicted that Chinese smartphone shipments would over 50% of the global market share in 2016.
According to the report, while entering the international market since 2011, smartphone shipments from Chinese manufacturers rapidly growing at an annual rate of 50%. But TrendForce analyst Alan Chen said, with the cuts in subsidies and saturation of the smartphone market in China, the smartphone shipments' growth is expected to the slowly growing rate at around 17%.

Even so, analyst also pointed out that Chinese smartphone shipments will account for 40% of the global share next year, even over 50% in 2016.

Lenovo, Huawei, MI and other mobile phone manufacturers in China are showing their great ambition undisguisedly to be the top smartphone manufacturer in the world, and their smartphone shipments this year were over 60 million, slightly lower than the world's two largest smartphone manufacturers, apple and Samsung's shipments.
These three Chinese manufacturers are predicted that their own smartphone shipments would over 100 million in 2015. Alan Chen pointed out that what will play a decisive factor are Lenovo's acquisition of Motorola Mobility and MI's imitation of its domestic success in overseas markets.

On an investor forum held earlier, executives of Samsung have questioned whether MI can succeed in overseas markets. Though MI started its way via online sales, which has saved a huge marketing spending. Samsung thinks that it is hard to run the same marketing strategy in overseas markets. Up to now, MI has replaced Samsung to be the top smartphone manufacturer in China.
Report also noted that although with the 30% smartphone shipments rate to face the overseas markets, Huawei, ZTE ,TCL and other manufacturers have not won the real market share yet, for most of their buyers are Chinese. When Chinese market is saturated, these companies will take good use of the price advantage and make their footstep to the low smartphone penetration market like India , Latin America and other countries. Report pointed out at last that the 'key' to make sure the shipments of Chinese smartphone manufacturers for maintaining growth is the successful expansion strategy.
