Apple Intends To Let Foxconn Produce The Sapphire iPhone Screen

According to the news revealing by the insider, Apple intends to let Foxconn produce the sapphire screen for iPhone. Although Foxconn have not got any experience in producing synthetic sapphire glass now,it still shows considerable interest in this new material. Moreover,Foxconn has been active in applying various kinds of patents in the recent years.Now Foxconn owned sapphire patents including the LCD screen with sapphire,sapphire protective screen,sapphire culture method and laser cut sapphire material and so on.

Actually before the release of iPhone 6,it is said that the sapphire screen would be equipped with this new iPhone generation,but due to a series of problems like production capacity,we can not see it all along.For Apple,how to improve the production capacity of the sapphire must be considered.In order to meet the needs of this iPhone screen,Apple needs 3000 sapphire production furnaces in the specification of 165 kg,or 200 production furnaces in the specification of 262 kg. Foxconn's joining in may likely to help share the cost of investment for Apple.At this stage,Foxconn has purchased a lot of planting furnaces,and planned to expand the sapphire supply chain. For sapphire cultivated,the most important thing is not to interrupt the supply of electricity and water.

But there is not clear official statement coming out from whether Apple or Foxconn.If Apple plans to equip this sapphire glass on the new iOS device that would be published in 2015,then the latest time to prepare the sapphire production equipment would be next year's spring.What's more,the message also said that Apple may use the sapphire material produced by both Chinese and Arizona Mesa factory.At the same time,there is also a message saying that Apple might use the future products that would be produced by Hansol Korea 's technology and Harbin Aurora Optoelectronics Technology Company in China to make its sapphire material screen. Of course, everything is still in the planning stage in Apple company,and the final direction is still need to wait for the official news coming out.
