The Development of Fingerprint Identification Technology

Due to the launch of iPhone 5s, the function of fingerprint identification started to come into vogue. At that time, this technology brought people shock and surprise. And it is widely accepted this fingerprint identification was so cool and sparkling. Afterwards, some mobile phones of Android also followed the trend and adopted this technology. While it just appeared in the high-end mobile phones.

In the past years, fingerprint identification technology appeared frequently in smartphones and had grown like crazy. You can see this technology appearing in almost every press conference of cellphones of famous brands. So it gradually became a standard feature of smartphones.

Benefited from brand awareness of Apple, Apple has truly leaded the trend after the appearance of Apple Touch ID, which relied on pressing the home button to realize the fingerprint identification function. However, things will develop in the opposite direction when they become extreme. On the contrast, it is not easy for Android to add fingerprint identification function into home button because they generally adopted the designing of capacitive touch buttons.

Actually previously Samsung adopted sliding type fingerprint identification system, which needs to be operated by sliding vertically. And the experience of users was not good. After Galaxy S6 and S6 edge, Samsung changed a lot and followed as Apple in the way of fingerprint identification technology. As a matter of fact, the efficiency had improved quite a lot.

Though the fingerprint identification has become a trend, it is still not that perfect. The fingerprint sensor had much optimization space. We can wait for the better fingerprint sensor to appear.
