The
market of PC has suffered a great depression. In the first quarter this year,
shipment of global PC has declined quite a lot. The main reason for that is
that the effect of exchanging Windows XP is dying away, which is the consensus
of both IDC and Gartner.
According
to the prediction of Gartner, the shipment of global PC will decrease by 5.2%
from the earlier year, reaching 71.7 million. And the top 5 of PC manufacturers
are Lenovo, HP, Dell, Acer and Asus.
From
the chart above, we can find that in the eyes of Gartner, Lenovo and HP are
only two corporations which sustained its growth in shipment of PC. Meanwhile Dell
had suffered a down turn during the last six quarters for the first time.
At
the same time, the worldwide PC shipment of the first quarter in 2015 has
declined by 6.7%, reaching 68.5 million. In the list of IDC, top 5 are as same
as Gartner and the unique difference is that Acer ranks before Asus.
IDC
also agrees with the data of Gartner. They think both Lenovo and HP had an
increasing tendency. However, the shipment of Dell and Acer had fallen down. Though
the shipment of Asus has increased than that of last quarter, it still ranks
the fifth.
Actually
the reason for worldwide PC shipment tendency is simple: the increasing
shipment of global PC in 2014 is just an accidental boom. As Microsoft has
called off supplying Windows XP for marketers, so they turn to bought new
computers and upgraded them to Windows 7 or Windows 8 within a short period.
Although
many a marketer adopt Windows XP, the trend of upgrading devices has weakened. For
the next half year, analysts hold an optimistic attitude when compared with
IDC.
