Your Android smartphone's home screen can become quite messy at intervals, especially if you frequently download a lot of apps. What is lucky is that it is easy to keep the home screen clean when compared with plenty of household jobs. That is, of course, if you want it clean, because some people may actually like their home screen to be chock-full of apps and widgets. For someone who has mild OCD, it is quite a boring thing when home screen is in a mess.
First, you have to prevent shortcuts from being automatically added to the home screen every time new apps are downloaded. Sure enough, when an app shortcut is automatically created, you can just wipe it out from the home screen. But you might not always have time to do this for each and every app. Thus, there are several tips on how to stop app shortcuts from showing up on your home screen. After leaving off Android's automatic shortcut feature, if you have a certain downloaded app which is frequently used, look for it in the app drawer and drag it to the home screen to make a shortcut.
The second thing that you have to do to clean your home screen is to use app folders. Create a folder on the home screen simply long press on an app, and pull it on top of another app. If you lift your finger from the screen, you'll have a brand new folder (always shaped like a circle), both apps included. Then you can add other apps by long pressing and dragging them on top of the folder. You can give your folders separate names. What’s more, if you want to, you can even add emojis to name these app folders.
Owing to app folders, you can always quickly enter any app from your home screen (with just two taps) without disturbing your home screen.
