The vice president of ZTE, manager of the global terminal strategy department Mao Qian alleged in the MWC of Barcelona: “We have enough confidence to achieve a 10% market share in America, being the third largest smartphone manufacturer in the next three years.”

At present Samsung and Apple are in fierce competing. The two tycoon of phone industry approximately control 50% market shares of America. At the same time, the third largest phone vendor LG can sell about 12 out of every 100 smartphone. If ZTE can keep steady pace in American markets, ZTE will surpass LG, being the third largest phone vendor.

ZTE claimed in late January that the American market share will grow 20%, which is second only to Samsung. In future its post-paid smartphone will be promising, when brand has begun to sell in the retail store and supermarkets.

Mao Qian also said ZTE predict to achieve better outcome in other markets. If a smartphone brand feels like being generalized around the world, it must gain success in American market. Although Chinese market is one of the largest smartphone-selling areas, America rank first by the cost of $350 per capita on buying cellphones throughout the world.

What challenges ZTE in America is not the product self but the brand awareness of people. Thus ZTE is devoted to hide its identity of low-end cellphones producer. The recently released smartphone such as the Blade and Star 2 employed advanced technology of intelligent sensing and intelligent voice.
